Generative AI through the lens of psychological warfare

This is a very unusual post that I decided to write inspired by the current trends that are unfolding.

In Silicon Valley there is an AI utopia that is spread; the utopia of Artificial General Intelligence and AGI. The concept of AGI is to build an artificial intelligence that is able to replace quite of every kind of job with minor modifications in hard-wares. Such AGI needs a lot of simulations in order to learn and imitate human beings.

Unfortunately, there are many reasons why such utopia shouldn’t be fed so much by psyops. The first reason is that people don’t really want to lose their jobs. The second reason is that the development of such artificial intelligence needs lots of information about the world. Information about:

-        What jobs do we need to be automatized because we really don’t have workforce, not because the workforce is not productive enough?

-        What kind of tasks are really menial and boring and maybe even harmful for the health of the people. Especially, what kind of tasks are really harmful to the mental health of people, because the mental of the people should be a priority of a civilized government.

The bubble of generative AI was a mistake in my humble opinion. That’s because of many reasons.

-        The first reason is because the imagination of the people is divine and sacred in their heads. It is especially divine and sacred to very important and successful content creators: whether they are artists like screenwriters, writers, songwriters, journalists, op-ed journalists, philosophers, free thinkers, innovators, inventors, creators, researchers. Basically, those are the people that have brought our humanity to this level of evolution.

-        It is right to give the people tools to improve the expression of their content creation. But giving them the subtle impression that they are going to be replaced is a mistake. It is like sending to them the subtle message that they are not needed anymore by powerful authorities. It is like a subtle way to downplay their sense of importance in the Universe. It might give to this people a discouragement: the opposite of an incentive. A disincentive to live by expressing their inner vocation. Such kind of operations are operations that historically had been done by authoritarian governments to suppress free thought. We should be very careful about the way how the generative AI bubble needs to be promoted and presented to the society.

-        If the reasons why such generative AI bubble is going on are related to issues like informational warfare or even worse, psychological warfare, then the issue must be taken with extreme urgency and delicacy. Psychological warfare is a very complicated and difficult kind of warfare to be understood. There are not very much professionals of psychological warfare in the world. Using artificial intelligence as a weapon of psychological warfare can lead to human losses and can also lead to innocent humans losing their minds, their mental health, their mental stability.

In order to understand psychological warfare, one needs to be very sensible: one needs to understand the subtle meaning of every communication and action: the effect that each information has on the consciousness, subconsciousness and unconsciousness of the individuals.

If we interpret the phenomenon of artificial intelligence, especially generative artificial intelligence in the lens of psychological warfare we get these conclusions:

  • The first conclusion is the operation of demotivation. Demotivation is a an operation psychological warfare. During a demotivation operation the individuals in the targeted area are subtly lead to be demotivated. They slowly lose they reason to keep working, the reason to keep being  productive. And sometimes, to people who consider their work as the most important aspect of their lives, they even lose the drive to keep living. Basically, in the middle term, the people are slowly driven to depression and sometimes, to suicide.

  • The second important conclusion in the case of specifically the invention of generative AI. In the case of generative AI the targets of psychological warfare through generative AI are the people who are holding this civilization upright. It is not a good strategy to target the kind of people who use their inventive and their imagination. Their inventive and their imagination is what we need to survive as a humanity. It is at the basis of human civilization, not only in Western civilization, but in all of the other civilizations. In my personal opinion, imagination is not just a tool to improve and invent and create, it is not just a venting of people’s own emotions. It is something sacred and divine that people need and use for the betterment of humanity. There is something deeply sacred about our own divine vocations: our need to express our imagination to the world. In my opinion there is also something deeply mysterious and esoteric and unexplainable about human imagination: like an X factor. Something that is unknown. And messing with the unknown is rarely a good idea.

Here I express some ideas on strange and different frameworks of seeing the Universe. I like reasoning from first principles.
